Meet the 2010 US Adventure Ambassador - Ben Lewis. After a two month intensive search earlier this year, South African Tourism and National Geographic Channel chose Ben, aged 42 from Olympia, Washington, as their US winner.

Ben travelled to South Africa in September 2010, to join 6 other winners from the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. The 'Adventure tribe' were accompanied by a National Geographic Channel television crew and a photographer shooting for a National Geographic exhibition in London. The crew followed Ben and the tribe on an action-packed itinerary through South Africa which included hot air balloning, mountain biking, safari, caving, horse riding, quad biking, bungee jumping, surfing and shark cage diving.

On returning from his trip Ben said "I absolutely loved every moment of South Africa. We had 10 days of non-stop adventures, from a cool safari to diving with Great Whites, the thrills never seemed to end. South Africa and this experience will live with me forever."
