Meet last year’s Adventure Ambassador - Jason Peters. The 36-year-old from Brighton is ‘interested in everything, prepared to do anything, resilient, resourceful and most of all a big time adventurer!’
After a three-month long, intensive search, South African Tourism choose Jason as the South Africa Adventure Ambassador for 2009. ‘It was Jason’s incredible enthusiasm that won through – his passion for wildlife and adventure sat perfectly with South African culture’, Lebo Mokhesi, UK Country Manager for South African Tourism.
Jason travelled to South Africa in September 2009, accompanied by a National Geographic Channel television crew, a photographer shooting for a National Geographic exhibition in London, and photojournalist specializing in the region. The crew followed Jason on an action-packed itinerary including trekking, surfing, wildlife tracking, canoeing, bush walking, safari, bungee jumping, paragliding, crocodile cage diving and quad biking.
This year we are looking for 7 Adventure Ambassadors from UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, Australia and the US, who will come together to form an Adventure tribe in South Africa. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, open minded travellers so if you have a passion for adventure and would like to share your story with the world, enter our competition here.
