Annie Griffiths-Belt
Introduction
Annie Griffiths-Belt, a contract photographer for National Geographic, began her professional career while still in university, working as a staff photographer at the Minnesota Daily before moving on to the Worthington Daily Globe.
Annie has photographed dozens of magazine and book projects for the Society, including National Geographic Magazine stories on Lawrence of Arabia, Baja California, Israel’s Galilee, Petra, Sydney, and Jerusalem.
Her work has received many honours, including awards from the White House News’ Photographers Association, the National Press Photographers Association and the National Organisation for Women. In addition to her work for National Geographic, Griffiths-Belt’s photographs have also appeared in Life, American Photo and Smithsonian.
Annie walks through the Cape Flats and is moved by the energy and vibrancy of the Township and its people
